Rohan: Originally the Gondorian province of Calenardhon, the land north of the White Mountains was gifted by Steward Cirion to Eorl of the Northmen in 2510 (Third Age). Eorl had led his men through great hardship from the far north to the aid of Gondor, and Cirion gave him the wide green lands of Calenardhon in recognition of his aid, swearing eternal friendship between old Gondor and the new land of Rohan.
Deer Park Heights is located just outside Queenstown (follow directions to the airport, carry on by, cross the bridge and follow the road round, then take the turning on the right).
It was used for a variety of locations, mainly in Rohan, and it has some easily identifiable locations.
Warning - you do have to pay (NZ$15 when I went) and it’s to a machine that only takes notes/coins - so make sure you have cash.
As an added bonus there’s an old Korean prison built for the filming of “The Prison” by Disney some time back. You can’t get in it, but it’s fun to look at.
