Another interesting article is posted on the MSNBC site (courtesy of Forbes Traveller), although the accompanying slideshow may provide more inspiration for places to visit. This is essentially an update of their earlier article covering locations from more recent films.

Stowe School was used as the location of the Nazi rally where Hitler watches his followers burn books and Indy and his father reclaim the grail diary.

Haddon Hall transforms into the “Inn at Lambton” in the movie Pride and Prejudice, while its dining hall becomes Elizabeth’s bedroom. It was also used for the internal scenes of the Boleyn house in The Other Boleyn Girl.

Various locations in County Galway were used as locations as the Irish King’s City and the opening sequence.

Used as the location for the Irish King’s Castle in Tristan + Isolde.

The bulk of Brick was shot in the director’s home town of San Clemente in California, particularly San Clemente High School.

The house at Groombridge Place Gardens was used as the Bennett house in the film. There is an exhibition about Pride and Prejudice at the site.

Wilton House was used to stand in for exterior and interior locations of Pemberley due to complications with filming at Chatsworth House.

The exterior of Chatsworth and two important rooms were used to depict Pemberley, the great Derbyshire mansion belonging to the film’s hero, Mr Darcy. There is now a small display at Chatsworth, including the bust of Mr Darcy made for the film, and a 1st edition of Jane Austen’s book from the Chatsworth library.

St James’s Park, one of London’s royal parks, bordered by 3 Royal Palaces. It is here that “the Teacher” disposes of one of his unwanted accomplices. Although in The Da Vinci Code, the park is a setting for a murder, it’s actually a very nice Royal Park to walk in.

Westminster Abbey houses the grave tomb of Sir Isaac Newton where Langdon and Neveu finally find out the identity of “the Teacher”. Although Dan Brown changed some facts to fit the story in The Da Vinci Code, Isaac Newton’s monument is certainly at Westminster Abbey.
